Every year, the Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations (MACDC) supports CDCs across the state in inviting their state legislators to meet with them in their neighborhoods. Legislators, CDC staff, board members, and community members get together over coffee, breakfast, and/or donuts to discuss what bills and state budget items will help their community thrive.
These meetings are win-win events: Legislators learn about what is happening in their district and how they can help as policymakers. CDCs can showcase the work they are doing and hear what their legislators are focusing on. Most importantly, participants build relationships with each other. These relationships are what really makes good policy happen! All three of FICC’s member-CDCs are hosting a Donuts with Delegates meeting this year, and residents from their service areas are welcome to join us! Your voice matters, and we hope to see you there!
